ENTRY LEVEL TRAINING PROGRAMS

Hospitality
We offer two full day workshops to allow participants with no previous experience in this industry to gain basic knowledge of café/restaurant service styles and skills requirements. Participants may choose one or both workshops to gain full benefit in preparation for their future employment.

Workshop 1 – Café / Restaurant Service
Topics:
• Identifying various styles of service in the food and beverage industry (including menu styles)
• Identifying the food and beverage attendant’s job responsibilities
• Planning for service times
• Co-ordinating service of tables – including plate carrying techniques, order taking, communicating with kitchen staff, clearing tables and selling techniques
• Identifying pressure points at work
• Dealing with difficult situations
• Table service role plays
• Discussing career paths and other opportunities

Included in this session are a variety of handouts. Part of the training session will take place in a restaurant.
